Chapter 15: Scorched Sand - Eirika's Route

Objective: Kill all enemies

• In the zones with a black line and number you may find some items if you place a unit inside. But thiefs and Rogue will find that item always.

• Reinforcements:
- Turn 3 to 5: 2 Pegasus Knight from the upper right part of the map.
- Turn 4 and 5:
   2 Pegasus Knight from above (red squares with white border).
   2 Cavalier from below, in the forts close to Valter.
- Turn 6: 2 Cavalier from below, in the forts close to Valter.
- Turn 8 and 9: 3 Shaman from above (red squares with red borders).
- Turn 8: Various enemies close to where Ephraim appears (you can see them by placing the cursor on the map here).

• New characters:
- Duessel, Knoll.

• Strategy:
Jehanna Hall is covered in flames, when you get out you will run into a landscape full of enemies. On the top region you will locate Caellach, Valter can be found on the southern zone. The mercenaries covering Caellach are less, so let´s go to them. Guide your team through the left area on the map and defeat your enemies, if you are low on spell books, there´s a store nearby. The ideal thing to do would be to pick Colm or Rennac to find the buried items, also your best magicians, as they can walk through the sand without much trouble. DO NOT use mounted units (non-flying), knights or generals, they will impair you more than helping you as their movement is severely hindered by the sand. Here you can see exactly how much will your movement be reduced (spanish).
By the end of the second turn, Ephraim, Duessel and Knoll will appear from the southwestern region; take advantage of that to get into the town, then guide them to Eirika or have both teams regrouped to the end of 8th turn because of the reinforcements.

Sadly, on the 8th turn, more enemies will arrive from the north, in this case, more shamans, paladin, three mages, two cavaliers, two fighters and a mercenary will show up at the point where Ephraim appeared. Eliminate them as fast as you can to continue the journey. Defeat Caellach and his team quickly for do this, and after this, go for Valter and defeat all of his army to clear all the map. When only he remains you may calmly search for the buried items.

By the way, it is possible that the berserker with a hand axe and the dragon axe will drop the dragon axe instead, and with it, it´s a lot easier to take out Valter. There is a trick to get it; have the berserker attack you with the hand axe by placing someone at his attack range limit. That will make the dragon axe appear green on his item screen, making it able for you to reclaim if the axe is not used again, just kill him after that and you will get it.

Caellach is a tough opponent, with his equipment he is immune to critical attacks, send a swordmaster to avoid his axes or the best of your magicians. He won´t move from his position. If you want to attempt a critical attack on him, you may steal his Hoplon Guard with a thief or a rogue.

Kill him as soon as you can, his critical attack is deadly, however, you may inflict a great damage to him if you use the dragon lance or dragon axe. You may also test your luck by stealing his Fili Shield, weakening him against arrows, or if it seems too complicated, just equip the item you just got from Caellach. He will not move from his position.
